Tainted Love Series by Ghiselle St. James Blog Tour + Review

The first in a new three book series from Ghiselle St. James:

This is not a fairytale. This is not a story of a woman who is perfect. This is not the story of a perfect couple that sails off into the sunset. This is gritty. This is frustrating. This is heartbreaking. This is my story, hard as it may be to tell.

**********

My name is Sullivan Beal – at least, that’s what I tell people – and I live life by my own rules. Most of my adult life has been spent hiding from my past. That is, until I meet HIM face-to-face.

Ben Hayes is the demanding C.O.O. who is hell-bent on having me for himself. But, I’m wrong for him. I know it, the universe knows it. If he ever found out who I really am, how utterly tainted I am, he wouldn’t waste his time wanting me.

There are things in my past that would destroy everyone in my wake. But Ben is relentless, trying to break down the walls around my heart that a messy past has caused me to construct. It’s a pity he doesn’t know…I am too tainted for love.

“Love isn’t for me, and my kind of love is too tainted, too blemished to share with anyone.”

I was hooked from the get go of this book.  It grabs you and before you blink you are at the end and craving for more.  The characters are well developed and you feel you are there.  Sullivan knows what she has and uses it to her advantage.  Ben is you typical alpha male.  The chemistry between these two are explosive.

Sullivan tries to fight the connection between them to protect Ben from her past.  The past will always come back to haunt you.  She tries to find the right time to tell him but the question is, will it ever be the right time? Ben is everything you want in an alpha male with a twist.  He knows what he wants and doesn’t mess around.  He chases after Sully relentlessly. He will use whatever he has to to achieve his goal and is not afraid to change or admit he is wrong.

Will they get past the walls that Sullivan has built? Will she finally tell him of her past? And will he be forgiving or walk away when he finds out? Check it out and see.  I cannot wait for the next book due to the end having me on the edge of my seat.  I am craving for more.

This isn't a perfect story. It's gritty, dark, frustrating but beautiful. Love isn't all hearts and flowers and bullshit declarations that are hollow and empty. If you love someone, you have to PROVE you're worth they're love. The road to happily ever after is paved with mistakes and horrible decisions...don't hold mine against me.

Sullivan: I have been captured by the only person I hate in this life; a person that I once foolishly loved. He is poison to me. Will I ever be free of him? Will I ever see Rachel again? Will I ever see my parents, my brother again? And Ben...will he ever know how I feel about him? So many wasted days I spent resisting him. A tear trickles down my face at that; because as I see Rick shaking that needle with a wicked gleam in his eye, I know this is the last time anyone will ever see me alive.

*******
Ben: I've worked very hard to maintain this control I have, but in just a few weeks Sullivan Beal came into my life and toppled my carefully constructed walls, and for a moment I didn't care. Now that she is out of my life, I should be happy...but all I can do is think about her; how I miss her smile and how she made me feel free. I have to get her back. The love I have for her may not be perfect, but our relationship scarcely is. And that's what makes it perfect. She may be tainted with demons from her past that she holds close to her chest, but I will free her from them; because as frustrating as my sweet girl is...I'm in this for the long haul. She might be broken, but I love her anyway. But one phone call...that dreaded phone call has me in a tailspin. Sullivan is kidnapped & it's a race against time to find her before he hurts her... Or worse...

OMG!!  I loved this book better than the first.  These two have been through so much.  They break up in the first book.  Ben goes back to his was as Sully goes through hell and back.  Then you throw in the crazy ex.  Ben finally pulls his head out of his ass and goes sees Rachel to try and fix things with Sully.  But he gets the phone call that crashes his world.  Sully is kidnapped and to top it off Rick, the crazy ex, had help from a person that is close to them.

This book is mostly in Ben’s point of view so you get to see this through his mind. I love the chemistry between these two.  I adore these characters.  This book picks up from where the first one left you.  I am looking forward to see what the author has coming up next.

Ghiselle St. James is a Jamaican author who has a never-ending love for written thoughts: poetry, song lyrics and fiction. A songwriter by the age of 9, Ghiselle enjoys singing just as much as she loves writing. She has been writing erotic novels since she was 13 years old. Never mind that they went unpublished; she had something inside her that wanted to break free…and it helped that it made her popular with the boys (hehe). Writing has been her outlet for most of her life, and will continue to be.

Ghiselle lives in Jamaica with her husband, Chris, and her handsome baby, Panthro the cat. She works full time but always makes time for music, writing, reading and chatting on Goodreads.

Ugh, I hate talking about myself in the third person.

Anywho…
I went to the Jamaica Theological Seminary (haha, yes!) where I studied Social Work and graduated with honors in June 2010. Since then, the writer in me has reawakened and hasn’t gone to sleep. I completed my first novel in January of 2013 which led me into writing my debut novel South Row in March 2014.

I pray my passion brings you as much joy as it has brought me.

The Red Carpet Series by Z.N. Willett Reviews

Title: The Trouble with Marrying a Movie Star
Series: Red Carpet #2
Author: Z.N. Willett
Genre: Adult, Contemporary Romance

Her most desired fantasies were finally being fulfilled, but at what cost?

Alexandria Moore's dreams have come true since she met actor Andrew Hughes.

Yet, when it’s revealed that he is her muse, will it cause them to grow closer, or shatter the dream into a figment of her imagination?

Will her reality survive the fantasy she has created?

They have already overcome distance, adversity, jealousy and misunderstandings. Can their relationship survive public scrutiny, old flames, insecurities and now deception?

Flashes of bright lights so blinding, that when you close your eyes, all you see is bursts of light under your lids. Your ears begin to ring, as they try to decipher the loud voices that are screaming and yelling at you, until everything becomes a mumbled blur.

Even though I could feel Andrew's hand as he pulled me through the crowd of paparazzi, at moments, I felt enclosed and alone. I felt somewhat alarmed by the frenzy of reporters that we had to walk past as we hurried to the ticket counter. I struggled to look up as camera flashes continued to assault my senses. This is what it feels like to have your picture taken without your consent—not knowing where it was going, or what they would do with it. Usually, it is a family member or friend on the other side of the lens. They capture a place, or time in your life that means something. You can always veto a lousy photo if you want, or laugh at the ones that have been taken. But this felt…wrong.

As we approached the counter, there was a woman in a red jacket that instantly greeted us. "I called security, Mr. Hughes." Andrew nodded, and greeted her with a handshake.

"Thank you. My Security Director wanted to leave someone with us, but I insisted that we would be fine."

Andrew looked at me apologetically. "My girlfriend has caused quite a stir," Andrew said, squeezing my hand tightly as he tried to make light of the situation.

She nodded in understanding. "Let’s get you two checked in, and I will escort you to the plane." She signaled to someone behind us. "It looks as if security has arrived."

I turned and saw four large men in uniform. One stood directly behind us while the other three directed the paparazzi to stay back.

Andrew asked for my passport and the agent checked us in. You could hear the shutters of the cameras capturing this mundane act. I turned my head, getting a better look at the men. When we had first stepped out of the taxi, I had shielded my eyes from the blinding lights as Andrew stressed to keep my head down. "Don't look at them, say nothing!" he shouted as he guided me along.

My anxiety grew at that thought, and suddenly, I felt light-headed. "Andrew…"

He turned his head, seeing my distress, and came to me immediately. "Andria, what is it?"

His eyes showed so much concern. Sadly, I wanted this…well, not this per se, but I had pushed for Andrew and me to be a real couple. Yet, I started to wonder if I might have bitten off more than I could chew.

I have fallen in love with the series.  You cannot help but feel that these two characters are made for each other.  And we get to continue their story with the second book in the series.  And I have to say that ZN Willett has done it again.

In this book Andrew and Andria are more involved with their relationship.  The heat is pilling on.  Andrew is still the sweet, swoon-worthy, and Hot actor.  While Andria is living her dreams and beginning her book tour.  Their hectic schedules keep them apart as they try to navigate through the hassles of stardom and just life.  I feel that Andria has become more outspoken then she was in the first and has really started to see her become the women we all knew was there.  I guess she has to be with the being on the arm of Heart Throb Andrew as well as taking him off the market.  But you just cannot help but fall in love with this couple.

Will they be able to stand the pressure of being a part due to their dreams?  Will they find stable ground and come out stronger for it?  Or will it all be too much?  Read and see.  I loved this story and looking forward to the next chapter in their lives.  As well as waiting to see what author ZN Willett has up her sleeve.

Title: The Trouble with Dating a Movie Star Series:

 Red Carpet  #1

Author: Z.N. Willett

Genre: Adult, Contemporary Romance

A.P. Moore's provocative romance throws her onto the Best Sellers list, but Alexandria’s life was far from the steamy pages of her romance.

Andrew Hughes, the most desired man in Hollywood was at the height of his career. Nothing could be better, until a chance meeting with Alexandria Moore that went horribly wrong. The man who had everything soon realized what Hollywood couldn't give him.

Or could it?

An invitation that leads to a premier, offers a second chance, and a Hollywood romance straight out of the pages of a magazine. Yet, this story will not be filled with butterfly kisses and midnight strolls, but with tangled webs filled with lust, desire, jealousy and deceit.

It is Hollywood after all.

Andrew Hughes is the most sought after man in Hollywood.  Every woman wants him, every man wants to be him, he is at the high of his career, and he is down to earth.  Life is looking good for Andrew. Andria is just your everyday girl turned author with a best seller.  She has also had a crush on Andrew since high school, what girl would not.  She even has the main character in her romance novel based off of him.  But never in her wildest dreams did she think that she would actually meet him.

A chance meeting between them at a bar in Georgetown that is disastrous, you would think that was the end.  Or will an invitation to a movie premier be just the second chance they needed.  But it’s not always smooth road for these two.  You have Andrews’s ex-girlfriend who doesn’t take “It’s Over” as an answer, the paparazzi chasing, his manager that loves Andria, but not to date him, Andria cannot tell Andrew that her book is about him, a book tour, and just life in the spotlight.  When you are dating the hottest guy in Hollywood, you will never have a privet moment again.  Will they be able to weather the storm of stardom?  Will they come out stronger or fall apart?  Can they navigate this life and is it worth it?

This is such a wonderful story and the characters you cannot help to fall in love with.  They have problems just like everyone else, even though they have to deal with the spotlight of it.  The pace of the story is good without any area that just seem to drag but you do not feel like it’s rushed either.  I cannot wait for the next book in the series and see what pops up in the lives of these characters.
