Excerpt
"Well, well, if it isn't Kylie Tate."My eyes pop open. Heat flushes through my body, and I'm instantly tense.
Rebekah. The woman who tried her damnedest to come between Alex and me—who nearly succeeded with her lies about a fake affair—stands in an identical robe with a glass of champagne. She slithers onto the chaise next to me.
"How's your closed head injury?" She tips back her champagne, but her gaze never leaves mine
.
My pulse races. I want to smack the glass right out of her hand and choke the shit out of her.
"Getting better everyday. Thank you. How's your escort service?"
"Same rude little bitch you've always been, I see. I hear you drove your ex-boyfriend insane, and he tried to kill you."
"Yes, turns out the two of you have a great deal in common. You're both psychotic and have failed at getting rid of me." Heat surges through my body. How dare she twist John's sadistic games into witty reparte? My head is pounding. The pressure at the base of my neck is about to explode. My jaw is clenched so tight, it’s painful. I don't think I have ever wished violence on anyone—until now.

About The Author
Born and raised in the Rocky Mountains, Anne L. Parks has spent the last 25 years moving all over the United States. Married to the Navy - well a Commander in the Navy - Parks has lived in various locales throughout the United States. She currently resides in the Washington D.C area, and is loving every minute. When not writing, she spends her time reading, doing yoga, mountain biking, and keeping track of four kids. And drinking wine.
2013 marked her debut in publishing. Her first novel, Strangers, released on her 45th birthday. She was amazed at the number of people who fell in love with a story about two people dealing with grief, and finding love again. Abby and Bryce were the perfect couple to introduce Parks as an up-and-coming author.
Her second novel, The Return, released in December 2013. A wonderful Christmas romance, it is the first book in the Return To Me series. Book two, Return To Newport, released April 29th, and followed the couple through the murky waters of saying good-bye to a past that refused to let go. Lauren's Return, the third book in the series, released on August 19th. This chronicles the challenges of bringing together a family amidst tragedy and death, and still holding firmly to the love they have fought so hard to keep alive. The fourth book, Returning Home, shifts the focus away from Jake and Eve, and delves into the life Eve's eldest daughter. Clarissa has a secret she has guarded for most of her life. Fearing it will be revealed, she refuses to allow love into her heart - until she meets Griff. December 2014 brought the close of this series, with the release of RSVP: A Return To Me Christmas novella. The wedding of the year is threatened by Mother Nature, forcing the couple to re-evaluate whether "happily ever after" is really attainable.
Stepping out of her comfort zone, Parks delved into the paranormal with a group of highly talented authors. The result? An unexpected fantasy of four sisters fighting to save the earth - and each other - from their deranged mother. Elementals, A Urban Fantasy/Paranormal Romance Anthology, released on May 15th. Summer brought more collaboration with the release of a Fourth of July themed short story, FlyBoy, that was included in the Sparks Fly boxed set.
Of Demons & Stones, the first book in the Tri-Stone Trilogy, also released in July 2015. Book two will release July 2016, and will pick up where Kylie and Alex left off, and is sure to take readers on a rollercoaster ride of suspense.

Today is the cover reveal for Profited by Lacey Black! I love this gorgeous cover, and I am so excited to share it with you! Title: Profited, Bound Together book 2 Author: Lacey Black Release Date: June 28, 2016 Photography & Cover Design - Sara Eirew Photography Cover Model - Mat Wolf About Profited: One night. Let go. Be free. Even at an early age, Reid Hunter’s future was already planned out. Though he was groomed to become successor of the family business, he quickly discovered his destiny wasn’t through his family’s legacy, but to build his own empire. His plan: takeover Vegas, one building at a time. Known as a hard, no-nonsense man, inside the boardroom and out, Reid isn’t prepared when he comes face to face with a woman from his past. The only one with the ability to make him question everything he stands for. Raising a child is hard. Raising a child as a young, single mother is downright difficult. Yet Dani Whitley has managed to put herself through college, purchase her own home, and raise the unexpected, but greatly adored son she created while in college, after one night with a gorgeous stranger. Knowing nothing but his first name, Dani has managed to push all thought of Reid out of her mind until one day, nine years later, she is forced to face the man himself. Ruthless and callous, Reid Hunter is nothing like the young man she met at that music festival all those years ago. Yet Dani is still drawn to him, more than she was before. Sin. Money. Success. Profits. That’s the foundation of Las Vegas. But what happens when one day you realize that it’s not enough? When the greatest thing you could profit is bigger and better than money: love. I watch as streetlights and buildings pass. Eventually, Reid steers us towards a residential area. The houses are massive and the lawns pristine, even for living in the middle of a damn desert. When we pull into a gated driveway, my heart rate kicks up, and considering it was beating at stroke level the entire ride, that’s saying something. Reid casually keys in his code, which grants us access to his home. And holy shit is it a home! The massive white house can only be described as an exquisite mansion. Evidently, I must make some noise to clue Reid into my shock. “It’s just a house, sweetheart,” he says as he drives his car into the biggest garage I’ve ever seen. There are four individual bays but the cars are two deep. As I take in the amount of wheels in this room, I’m not too much of a girl to realize that the back row consists of rare, expensive cars. “Just a house,” I repeat as Reid opens the passenger door. His garage is bigger than my entire house. “This way,” Reid says, placing his warm hand on my lower back. I notice as we head towards the entryway that he’s carrying my overnight bag. Good thing he remembered, because my nerves are so frayed, I completely forgot about retrieving my bag. Reid opens the door, motioning for me to enter. This is it. There’s no turning back now, not that I have ever thought about turning back. I want this. I’ve wanted this since I dragged myself out of that tent in the early morning light all those years ago. The morning I knew that my life would never be the same again. In that morning light, I knew. I knew Reid was different than every single boy, guy, or man I’ve ever known. He left his imprint on my life and deep in my heart, and not entirely because of the child we created together. I lost a bit of my heart to Reid Hunter that night in the desert, and if I’m not careful, I’m going to find myself in the same situation again. Only this time, there’ll be no getting it back. There’ll be no turning around and walking away. Reid Hunter will own me completely. The scary part is, he already might. Here’s a taste of Luke & Callie…
I stand and move to him. His back muscles tense when I place my hand on his shoulder. “I want to get to know everything about you, Luke Hardy,” I say and he spins around to face me.
His eyes search mine. “You already know the important bits.”
“No, I don’t.” I rest my hand against his chest. “I don’t know the secrets you keep locked in here. They’re the important bits.”
His intake of breath is sharp and he wraps his hand around mine. His other hand slides around my waist and he pulls me close.
Oh, shit.
No.
Too close.
But his lips brush across mine before I can move out of his embrace. His hold is tight and his message is very clear—he’s in charge here and if a kiss is what he wants, a kiss is what he will have.
He surprises me, though, and angles his face away from mine. Still keeping hold of me, he says, “I know we’re doing the friends-only thing for awhile, but a man’s got needs, Callie. If you put your hands on me, you better be prepared for the consequence of that.”
I’m pretty sure my eyes almost pop out of my head. I knew Luke was bossy—oh, boy did I know—but this is a whole new level of bossy. His deep voice vibrates along my skin, scattering goose bumps, while his eyes penetrate my soul. Those intense, green eyes of his will do it to me every time. They’ll cause me to forget everything I’ve ever said or thought and just cling to him for the ride.
He dips his face again and his mouth finds mine. The moment our lips connect sparks of desire burn through me. I’m so damn hot for him and I can’t control myself. I push my body hard against his and open my mouth to him.
He tastes like whiskey and I make a note to buy some just so I can remember this moment forever. I’ve never loved whiskey before, but it may just be my new favourite drink.
This kiss will forever live in my mind. Luke doesn’t simply kiss—he possesses. He takes me mind, body and soul.
In this kiss I find hope.
Hope that he will fight for me.
For the us we both want.

Excerpt
In that moment, I knew that he had me fooled. I would buy into this façade of a reality where it didn’t matter if Monty thought we were dead when we were actually alive. I had faith in a fairytale that we could live in a conspicuous location inconspicuously. It was all a fantasy, but I wanted so much to believe that we were safe, that no one would ever find us here, that Cabel and I had escaped unseen.
But maybe I wasn’t a complete fool. Maybe it was denial not naiveté. Maybe it was hope in the pipe dream that our life could return to the way it once was. Either way, I succumbed to the fake world Cabel had created. And I let myself believe that none of it was too good to be true.
Cabel’s fingers tangled through my hair, as his other hand slipped beneath my shirt and trailed the length of my naked back. Clinging to him, I clasped my hands together behind his neck and whimpered when he tugged at my bottom lip. Cabel groaned at the sound that left my parted lips and pushed me up against the wall.
My hands searched his torso, rubbing and caressing his skin. His chest. His abs. His ribs. When Cabel folded his hands through mine and then ripped the shirt over the top of my head, I couldn’t believe that he was mine. How had I gotten so lucky?
Cabel placed his hands at my waist and hauled me into the bedroom, where we collapsed on the mattress together. He stretched out beside me and cradled my face in his hands, similar to the first time we had made love. I felt his lips against my neck, as his fingers traveled along the sides of my arms and then my neck and then my spine.
Right before that pivotal moment, that felt so much like freezing fire and burning ice, he left the softest kiss on my lips, and I knew he would be gentle. His frosty blue eyes gazed into mine, loving, caring, trusting. Since the day I met Cabel Jones, he had taken every part of me, but none that I hadn’t already been willing to give. As he braided his fingers through mine and pushed the back of my hands into the mattress, I knew that I had made my choice.
